Money Related New Years Resolutions for YOU!
Well, it’s 2025. And even though I’m not a fan of resolutions (I never make my own), I AM a fan of making resolutions for everyone else.
Here are a few finance related resolutions for 2025.
Stop Falling for Sales! If the thing you wanted was $500 and now it is $300, you didn’t SAVE $200, you spent $300. And if it wasn’t an item you really needed, it’s likely you just pissed away your hard earned money to line the pockets of some corporation. Invest that money instead. Retire earlier.
Cancel Unused Streaming Services You Haven’t Used in 30 Days. Little bits of money here and there add up. It might not be enough to buy you a house, but it is enough to start a little investment portfolio. Think about all the streaming services you pay for but rarely use. If you haven’t watched something in 30 days, cancel that shit. You can always re-subscribe down the road if there’s something you want to watch. Or better yet, get a free trial!
Track Your Spending. Adults know where their money goes. This whole carefree I don’t know where my money goes lol routine is part of the reason you will NEVER retire. I use Monarch Money
Stop Using DoorDash. If the delivery fees cost more than the food you’re ordering … go get it yourself. And don’t give me this whole, “Well what about if I’m SICK?” bullshit. Of course there are always exceptions. Use it if you’re sick. Use it as an occasional treat. But relying on DoorDash as your little luxury when you can’t afford it is keeping you poor.
Stop Asking what Creators THINK About a Stock. My opinion doesn’t matter. What I think about a stock does not matter. I could be right. I could be wrong. LEARN how to make your own investing decisions. Go for a the buck stops with you sorta thing. Ask creators HOW they research stocks. Ask creators what resources they use. But really.
